When to Call in your Preferred Electrical Contractor

When to Call in your Preferred Electrical Contractor

It is quite normal to see ads being run in the press for an electrical contractor to bid or tender for a large commercial project. Usually, the main contractor is chosen at the early planning stages and then the ‘trades’ are added to the team quite early on to be involved in the planning and design process from as early and practically as possible. One of the main reasons for this is that developers understand the value that having a full team in place makes to the overall success of a project.

By having your electrical contractor on board from as close to inception as possible, you get the benefit of their experience in the optimal layout for your building for today’s needs and those for the foreseeable future. From the small things like the placement of power sources and light switches to the size photovoltaic (PV) system you should run or the power that you will need from the grid. All these efficiencies add up to money saved.

But why are only the large developers and general contractors doing this? You too should be doing this for your new home. Involving a qualified electrical contractor from the beginning of your home’s design can help to improve your overall enjoyment of your home. With the experience brought to the table, qualified electricians can offer advice on the types, numbers and placement of plugs and switches around a room based on your anticipated usage, but also based on their experience in how customers use their homes.

A good electrical contracting company will assist in the development of a plan for the layout of your home’s power grid to optimize your needs, give reliable estimates of time and money and develop a schematic which helps to future-proof your home. They will also have liability insurance to cover them and your project, in case something goes wrong, they will be up to date on building to Code and in dealing with new technologies, and they will get it right the first time. Their access to a wealth of knowledge and the right tools and equipment for your job can’t be replicated by a single electrician, in an efficient way.

Now that you’ve started to understand how a professional electrical contracting firm can make sense for your personal and professional construction projects, don’t let professional developers get all the benefits.  Give us a call and let us join your design team for your next construction project.

Travelling on the ABC highway from JTC Ramsay (Bussa) Roundabout/Haggatt Hall heading south, take the first left just after you pass the pedestrian overpass outside CBC TV. Take the second left and we're the last building on the right at the end of the avenue.

If you’re coming up the highway from the south, you will need to go to Bussa Roundabout and reverse your direction of travel, as entry to the avenue is only available on the southbound lanes.
